Captain Paul Watson of Animal Planet's "Whale Wars" has sent Monsters and Critics an update on all the sea battles and concerns the Sea Shepherd is involved in.

Watson writes, "We have been fighting to stop the pilot whale slaughter in Denmark's Faeroe Islands since 1985 and we are not giving up! We intend to stop their cruel 'hunt,' which is very similar to the annual Taiji dolphin slaughter in Japan, documented in the award-winning film 'The Cove.'"

The Sea Shepherd needs sponsors and donors to keep their working mission afloat. Watson says, "We couldn't be so effective without you. Please donate today to help us keep it up, so we can continue our vital efforts." DONATE

"Last week a pod of 236 pilot whales was ruthlessly slaughtered in the town of Klaksvik in the Danish Faeroe Islands," writes Watson. "236 pilot whales ruthlessly slaughtered in the Faeroe Islands...  Killing pilot whales is strictly protected under the Convention on the Conservation of European Wildlife and Natural Habitats, to which Denmark is a signatory. It is also prohibited by the International Whaling Commission, of which Denmark is a member. Two weeks ago, we sent an undercover operative to the Faeroe Islands..." read more HERE

Operation Gulf Rescue Update

"Our aviation wing has been extremely busy in the Gulf of Mexico for the past couple of months and especially this past month," writes Watson. "We have been working with other NGOs, Gulf locals, and government agencies in order to maximize effectiveness in protecting and promoting recovery of the Gulf wildlife and ecosystems. Read more about our progress and learn what we have planned for the weeks ahead..." read more HERE

"Our flagship has made its final rounds in our 2010 Mediterranean Bluefin Tuna Defense Campaign, Operation Blue Rage, by stopping off in Italy, Monaco, and Spain. Now we're ready to head back to Australia to gear up for our 2010-11 Antarctic Whale Defense Campaign, Operation No Compromise.  Thank you to everyone in the Mediterranean who made us feel welcome and helped make this campaign a success!"

Watson extended his thanks to all who supported the Sea Shgepherd's missions and asks you to stay tuned for more updates.
