If you are a fan of Bear Grylls on Discovery, you know the man will do anything to show his viewers how to survive "what if" scenarios that you may perhaps find your self in.

The new season promises many nail biting experiences and disgusting things to eat and drink for Bear, who mans up and simply thinks of England.

And if you are adrift on the open ocean and have no water, but conveniently have siphon hosing and something to catch fetid water in:

Yes, we had to wheel out that gem for posterity.  And frankly after watching screeners of Discovery's upcoming "Shark Week" where Great White Sharks literally jettison out of the ocean at speeds of 25-30 MPH upwards to attack seals and small boats, I'd be more concerned about a big shark capsizing my rickety raft than rehydrating my colon.

But those who put themselves in perilous positions have more schooling from Bear to look forward to.

Survival expert and extreme adventurer Bear Grylls returns to Discovery Channel Wednesdays at 9PM ET/PT, beginning August 11 for seven all-new, heart-pounding episodes of Man vs. Wild.

In the continuation of the hit series’ fifth season, Grylls travels to remote locales around the globe, including Australia’s northern territory, the Republic of Georgia’s Caucasus Mountains, a deserted island south of Papua New Guinea, the snowfields of the Canadian Rockies, and others, sharing invaluable survival strategies all along the way.

The new premieres include a special episode – titled Fan Vs. Wild – in which Grylls takes two viewers along with him for the first time on the series to experience extreme survival firsthand.

Each of the new episodes present Grylls with challenges in the wilderness unlike ever before – from being buried alive in an avalanche to escaping a deserted island on a bamboo windsurfer to scavenging for and eating many local – and often not so appealing – delicacies.

And, when the fans join Grylls in the wild for Fan vs. Wild, which premieres in September, it’s not just the fans that are forced out of their element! Grylls’ military experience and daring spirit push him to his core, all in the name of survival.
