You can say many things about MTV and skateboarding star Rob Dyrdek, the hyper-focused American entrepreneur who knew at an early age what he wanted, and worked hard to make it happen.
Unlike his famous mini-horse, grass does not grow under Rob's feet.
Ohio, Dyrdek's home state, has been hit hard in the economic downturn, with many big plants and manufacturers pulling stakes and relocating to China or Mexico. But Dyrdek reminds us all that Mid-western values and strong work ethics are still gold, and has taken these skills, along with his natural athletic ability and low-key charisma, and parlayed them into a massive money-making entity that includes his reality TV show as just part of the overall picture. Ohio should be very proud of Dyrdek.
MTV rolls out Season 3 of Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory on Monday July 12.
Post "Rob & Big" success, where two unlikely buddies tackle mogul-dom and bachelorhood, setting up house and learning about nurturing with the help of a flatulent Bulldog (Meaty) and a poop machine miniature horse (Mini), the show folded when "Big" took to adulthood and actually began his own family, moving away. Now Rob has set up his corporate offices, ground zero for the last two seasons of his smash hit 'Fantasy Factory' on MTV.
Rob's Fantasy Factory is where Dyrdek Enterprises spins its lucrative wheels. The pro skateboarder surrounds himself with family, friends, his mom, the animal crew from "Rob & Big" and wheels and deals his shoe and clothing line with DC, a new restaurant, fragrance, skate parks, and more coming down the half-pipe.
It would be awesome if Dyrdek sets up any manufacturing of his branded items in the Buckeye state, bringing jobs to his home turf.
Some of this season’s highlights include the invention of the world’s first skateboarding car, jumping out of a five-story building, attempting to get towed onto a big wave in Kauai with the help of Laird Hamilton, and attempting to make the world's most expensive grilled cheese.
Season 3 will see guest stars Chad Ochocinco, Travis Barker, Danny Way and The Game. Returning this season are cousin Chris “Drama” Pffaf, Scott “Big Cat” Pfaff, Chanel, and manager Jeremy Larner.

"This is a Skateboard Car":
Rob teams up with world champion drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr., to create the world's very first Skateboarding Car. Merging drift racing and skateboarding, the two pioneers of a brand new sport test their specially fabricated car at a custom built indoor car skate park.
Rob also moves his cousin, Drama, into a brand new office next to his own atop the Fantasy Factory skate plaza. Drama's choice of decor sends Rob on a mission to honor drama's unique face.
Tune in to MTV for Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory Season 3 which premieres on July 12th at 9:30PM ET/PT.
