Media veteran Larry King is the old familiar on CNN, on TV for years, always opening with distinct music at dinnertime that heralds his nightly interview show which often times chased the hot story of the day.
King managed to bag the elusive subject, given a chance to present their side of the scandalous hot topic story. Older versions of the show had callers allowed to ask questions, but that part of the show began to be phased out in later years.
King's salon had many moments, and often revealed Larry as sage and sycophant, where King either shined or stuck his foot squarely in his mouth.
Monsters and Critics rounded up some of our favorite clips that show all these aspects of King's distinct style of interviewing, and we hear that Joy Behar and Ryan Seacrest are in the lead as replacements. Piers Morgan was mentioned, but the show being run by a British national would not seem the same at all.
