Billie Piper is back in the saddle as Belle de Jour for Showtime.
The fourth and final season sees our chirpy call girl maneuver life as a regular gal and one of a seductress on call.
'Doctor Who' alum Billie Piper will reprise her critically-acclaimed role as the title character, with production beginning in London this August. Season four, which will be comprised of eight, half-hour episodes, will follow Belle (Piper), an internationally successful author, torn between her career and her feelings for her best friend Ben (Iddo Goldberg). Additionally, season four will feature a storyline where the high-end London call girl visits New York City.
Taken from best-selling, real-life diaries, the series is a ribald peek into the world of a high-end call girl leading a double life. To her friends and family she is “Hannah,” a legal secretary clocking in regular hours and enjoying a “normal” life. To her clients, she is “Belle,” the answer to all of their fantasies. Her challenge is to keep her two lives separate, yet inevitably, they begin to blur.
The series was created by celebrated playwright Lucy Prebble (“Enron”), and executive produced by Greg Brenman, Roanna Benn, Beccy DeSousa, Billie Piper and Michael Foster, and is based on “The Intimate Adventures of a London Call Girl” by Belle De Jour.
