The comedian Jimmy Fallon will be the host of the Emmy Awards broadcast this summer, NBC announced early May.
John Shaffner, the chairman and chief executive of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, said Mr. Fallon “is a bright, insightful and energetic entertainer who made his name performing on live television, and we welcome him to host our annual celebration of great television as the show returns to broadcasting live coast to coast.”
The prime-time Emmy show will be broadcast live on Aug. 29. The nominations will be announced on July 8.
On May 27, Fallon was interviewed by Brian Williams at the Paley Center in Beverly Hills. For an entertaining recap of this event, please visit the Panel Nerds' writeup here.
Jimmy Fallon busted out a new song on Friday night’s Late Night. It’s an original ditty about the tar balls in the Gulf of Mexico entitled “Balls in Your Mouth."
If only we could laugh away the oil spill nightmare.
