mun2, the leading bilingual cable network in the US, announces its new programming for 2010-2011.
The paranormal reality series, “From Beyond,” and the original reality show, “Jenni Rivera Presents Chiquis and Raq-C” are featured series.
“We are very excited about our new line-up of fresh, uniquely American programming. ‘From Beyond’ captures Hispanics’ fascination with the paranormal, while Chiqui’s and Raq-C is grounded on the foundation of music and regional Mexican sensation, Jenni Rivera,” said Jacqueline Hernandez, Chief Operating Officer, Telemundo. “As we continue to story tell for this fast growing segment, we look forward to working across our company to develop new and relevant content”.
“Creating fresh and innovative content for our audience is one of our goals as the leading bilingual cable network among young Hispanics,” said Flavio Morales, SVP, Programming & Production, mun2. “Each of these shows offers a fresh, unique quality that fits perfectly with our audience’s interests and lifestyles.”
“From Beyond”
An hour-long documentary-style show that follows a team of renowned paranormal investigators who set out to document supernatural and paranormal activity within the Latino and urban communities, allowing subjects to participate in their own investigation. Through personal interviews and a real-life thought-provoking approach, “From Beyond” investigates the cultural, historical and psychological aspects behind the haunting stories that the families and locations have to tell. Subjects include ghosts, miracles, divine images, paranormal entities, magic, and exorcism.
“Jenni Rivera Presents Chiquis and Raq-C”
Announced last month, and inspired by the fame and fortune surrounding the Regional Mexican music icon, Jenni Rivera, “Jenni Rivera Presents Chiquis and Raq-C” is the story of two, young Latinas coming into their own. The series introduces Rivera’s eldest daughter and “business muse”, Janney Marin (24), known to friends and family as “Chiquis”, and Raquel “Raq-C” Cordova (28), her best friend and popular LA radio personality (Latino, 96.3FM). With Hollywood as the backdrop to this uniquely American story, the show will give viewers a never-before-seen look into the lives of these young, ambitious Hispanic women, as well as the humor, passion and drama that surrounds them.
Delia Hauser of Hauser Entertainment joins mun2 and Jenni Rivera to produce this original series, with Jenni Rivera serving as Executive Producer.
