Trooper Betty White is being worked to exhaustion by NBC.
 
Hollywood’s “Golden Girl” Betty White stopped by NBC’s “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno”  (Monday-Friday, 11:35 p.m. ET) on Wednesday, May 12, to talk about her recent stint hosting NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” and her new series “Hot in Cleveland.”

Here is Jay's Monologue:

ARE YOU ALL READY FOR THE UPCOMING FINALE OF LOST?  BUT ENOUGH ABOUT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS.

THE CAVALIERS DESTROYED BY THE CELTICS, 120 TO 88.  CLEVELAND FANS HAVEN'T SEEN ONE OF THEIR TEAMS COLLAPSE THAT SINCE; THE BROWNS, THE INDIANS…THE ARENA FOOTBALL THING.

ACCORDING TO THE WALL STREET JOURNAL, A NEW STUDY SAYS THAT PARENTS SHOULDN'T BE ALARMED IF THEIR KIDS TELL A LIE; THEY SAY IT'S A NATURAL PART OF DEVELOPMENT. THERE ARE THREE PHASES; ADOLESCENCE LYING, YOUNG ADULT LYING, AND, OF COURSE, OIL EXECUTIVE LYING.  THAT IS THE BIGGEST…

HAVE YOU BEEN WATCHING THIS?  BP, TRANSOCEAN, AND HALLIBURTON ALL ARE BLAMING EACH OTHER…”YOU DID IT! NO, YOU DID IT!”  AND YOU KNOW WHAT?  THEY ARE ALL RIGHT!

HERE’S A STORY I HAVE BEEN TALKING ABOUT FOR AWHILE.  IT HAPPENED AGAIN.  A MAN KNOW AS THE “GEEZER BANDIT”…THIS OLD GUY, HAS HELD UP HIS 9TH BANK. A GUY IN HIS 70’S.  HE SAYS HE’S GOING TO KEEP ROBBING BANKS UNTIL HE FINDS ONE THAT HAS MONEY IN IT.

IT SEEMS CHILDREN'S JEWELRY MADE IN CHINA IS NOW BEING RECALLED BECAUSE IT COULD CONTAIN A TOXIC METAL.  THERE’S A SHOCK.  BUT CHINA IS INSISTING IT'S PERFECTLY SAFE -- THEY SAY, "HEY, THE KIDS WHO ARE MAKING IT ARE FINE!  HOW BAD COULD IT BE?  THEY’RE STILL ALIVE."

I LOVE THIS STORY.  FEDERAL RESERVE CHAIRMEN BEN BERNANKE TOLD GRADUATES AT THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA, THAT MONEY CAN'T BUY HAPPINESS. HE SAID DO NOT TO PURSUE MONEY BECAUSE IT WON'T MAKE YOU HAPPY.  THEN HE ALSO TOLD THE STUDENTS THAT SOMETIMES EARNING LESS MONEY AND DOING THE ETHICAL THING CAN MAKE YOU UNHAPPY TOO. SO WHAT IS THE THEME OF THIS COMMENCEMENT ADDRESS?  EITHER WAY KIDS, YOU ARE SCREWED!  GOOD NIGHT EVERYBODY….

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE BIRTH CONTROL PILL.  THE BIRTH CONTROL PILL TURNED 50 YEARS OLD THIS WEEK.  YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS?   IF YOU'RE 51, THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE YOUR PARENTS DID NOT WANT YOU.

HAVE YOU SEEN THESE NEW ADS FOR COORS LIGHT WITH WINDOWS?  THE CASE OF BEER HAS A HOLE IN IT, SO YOU CAN SEE THE BEER INSIDE.  IF THE WINDOW TURNS BLUE THAT MEANS YOUR BEER IS COLD BEFORE YOU BUY IT.  THAT’S WAY MORE CONVENIENT THEN DOING IT THE OLD WAY…TOUCHING THE CANS.

Walking out to a standing ovation, White thanked the appreciative audience and joked, “Oh my goodness they should be throwing rocks at me, you’ve had such an overdose…thank you, thank you, thank you!”

When Leno asked the Hollywood’s newest “It” girl if hosting “SNL” was nerve-wracking, White said, “I didn’t sleep for three weeks before and my knees were shaking so hard.  Don’t tell me you couldn’t see ‘em!”

White also dispelled the rumors that “SNL’s” musical guest star Jay-Z got a little fresh with her. 

“Well, he didn’t get fresh he just got desperate, I guess.”  While laughing, she continued: “No, he just walked by and, you know, patted me – you know how somebody walks by and pat you – well he walked by and patted me.  Not on the shoulder!”
