Aziz Ansari to make MTV Movie Awards a fun event

The full list of the MTV Movie Award nominees is now released.

"The Hangover" is leading the pack with 6 nominations, "New Moon" and "Avatar" follow in close second with 5 each.

Aziz Ansari Hosts the “2010 MTV Movie Awards” LIVE on Sunday, June 6 at 9pm ET/8pm C

The “2010 MTV Movie Awards,” has allowed film fans everywhere to make “The Hangover,” “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” and “Avatar” this year’s top nominated films.

Fans can expect to see another cinematic fight to the finish as these three battle with two mega-movies nipping at their nominated heels: “The Proposal” and “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.”

Winner voting for the “2010 MTV Movie Awards” in 12 returning and brand-new categories begins today, Wednesday, May 12 at 12pm ET/9am PT at MovieAwards.MTV.com and closes Saturday, June 5. 

Nominees for the “2010 MTV Movie Awards” have the following to say about their nominations and the fans that voted:

“Six years ago I sat in the nosebleeds with my family watching the awards as a fan. Now I'm a nominee and we won't have to use binoculars to see the show.”                                                                                                                            

– Jake Abel, nominated in the “BEST FIGHT” category for the feature film “Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightening Thief”

– Ken Jeong, nominated in the “BEST WTF MOMENT” and “BEST VILLAIN” categories for the feature film “The Hangover"
