Cyndi Lauper TV coming to you soon

Cyndi Lauper's tortured run on the Celebrity Apprentice has sparked a new phase for the "True Colors" singer, who along with Mark Burnett will weave her life story on reality television.

In a press call today, Lauper promoted her new LP (out June 22) and tipped the press she had signed a contract with reality kingpin Mark Burnett. It was Burnett who sent Lauper to Celebrity Apprentice as a contestant.

With regards to the boardroom and Donald Jr's "harping" on the red paint issue, Lauper said, "I should have added that Holly wanted to paint that seafoam green that everyone hated..."

"It was an interesting gig..." shared Lauper.

Lauper also continued her bad blood with Holly Robinson Peete.  "She's a hard worker....she wouldn't think twice about throwing anyone under the bus."

"Sharon Osbourne was awesome..." added Lauper.

Lauper also expressed she prayed and meditated about Michaels' health, and wished him well. "He's a good guy." Lauper said.

Lauper also noted that despite their curt parting, she felt Michaels would win the contest. "I think that Bret Michaels has a good shot at winning," she said. "Bret was really creative and upbeat and always positive."

"The show got a little two-sided, backstabby, it was hard to deal with people talking behind your back..." yet Lauper noted her stint on Apprentice experience was worth it, "I had fun, Sharon Osbourne is such a blast and so, so bright..."

Lauper also reiterated her push for Gay people's civil rights; her charity True Colors champions for LGBT people who need legal and financial assistance, or for at-risk kids thrown out of their homes for their gender preferences.

"There's a joyful moment in everything you do, its easy to forget," ceded Lauper. "I learned a lot from the show."
