George Lopez and Sandra Bullock are as tight as ticks.
The pair has been friends since 2000. "Sandra Bullock completely gave me life," Lopez told People magazine in a 2006 interview.
Bullock was searching for Hispanic talent when she was introduced to Lopez, then a little-known comic. Bullock drove an hour from Los Angeles to Orange County to catch his act.
Cut to two years later, she was the executive producer of his hit television show, George Lopez.
"From the time Sandy and I first laid eyes on each other, she has been nothing but a person of her word and embracing of me and my family," he said of Bullock, who often visited the set of his show, even making a few guest appearances.
"We always trade off poses, like gang poses. It’s beautiful. I love her!"
As a gift many years ago, Bullock gave Lopez his first BlackBerry, and she sent him a message that he saved. "She said, 'If you ever need me, I'm your big sister."
He replied, "If you ever need me to be the bad guy, I will be the bad guy.'
Talk show host George Lopez is definitely a friend you'd want. He says he knew about her adoption of her son Louis -- and helped keep the whole thing out of the public eye.
"We knew about him a couple of months ago," Lopez told Extra today at the Third Annual George Lopez Celebrity Golf Classic to Benefit the Ann and George Lopez Foundation.
"I love that she was able to do it privately and really take care of Louis, which is first and foremost," Lopez said. He then gushed, "We are proud uncle and aunt of Louis Bardo Bullock. He's beautiful."
Will Lopez and his wife be the godparents? "We haven't been asked," Lopez replied, but then joked, "Sandra is my godmother, so I'm happy just with that status."
