OxyContin at root of Jameson issue says UFC fighter Ortiz

UFC fighter Tito Ortiz gave a tearful press conference and claimed he had seen the drug abuse before in his own parents, and had confronted his live-in girlfriend Jenna Jameson early Monday morning about her OxyContin addiction.

"It means the world to me, my friends and family for their support," Ortiz says in a press conference late Monday. "My parents have been through an addiction and I see it in the mirror again. I am not going to let my family go through that. I speak from my heart, I hold everything dear to my heart that Jenna will be okay."

According to KABC-TV, Ortiz called the press conference with his lawyer, Chip Matthews, where it was revealed that porn actress (now retired) Jameson, the mother of twin sons with Ortiz, has been fighting "an uphill battle" with the potent painkiller for at least a year.

"Tito was trying to help her, she has threatened suicide before," Matthews says. "Tito has done everything in his power to protect her privacy and the privacy of their children."

Ortiz found more OxyContin Monday morning and confronted Jameson about it, who then suffered an "emotional breakdown," which led her father Larry to call 911, Matthews alleges.

Jameson's family is helping Ortiz with trying to get help for Jameson.

Jameson was seen yesterday leaving a pharmacy with a medical brace on her right arm.

Matthews cites the police report, which says Jameson had a scratch on her elbow. "When you're dealing with people on OxyContin they don't always have the best sense of balance," he says. "Jenna and Tito have two children together, they planned on spending the rest of their lives together. They want nothing more than to work together on this."
