Fans of Masterpiece Mystery have a great month coming in May, as "Foyle's War" returns to PBS, and is hosted by Alan Cumming on Sundays, May 2, 9 and 16, 2010 at 9pm ET.
Synopsis:
It is June 1945, and VE Day has been celebrated in Britain. The war in Europe has ended and Detective Chief Superintendent Christopher Foyle hopes his crime-fighting days are too.
But the seaside town of Hastings has a dark underbelly with unsolved murders, and the unflappable chief must solve a trio of his most challenging cases yet.

Michael Kitchen returns as Chief Superintendent Christopher Foyle in three brand new
episodes of the acclaimed series.
The state of the country, however, is far from jubilant in the aftermath of war. Keen to retire, but bound to his old job by the steep rise in violent crime that swept the country, Foyle is thrust into the dangerous worlds of international conspiracy and execution, military racism and national betrayal. He must feel his way through this new world as he faces some of his toughest challenges and gripping plots to date. (All episodes 90 minutes.)
May on PBS:
May 2 Foyle’s War, Series VI: “The Russian House”
In the war’s aftermath, Hastings is a transit point for Russian POWs who changed sides to fight for the Nazis and now face an uncertain future. The War Office assigns Foyle to track down one escapee, and the reason for his flight becomes shockingly clear.
May 9 Foyle’s War, Series VI: “Killing Time”
Black American GIs waiting to be shipped home from their camp near Hastings find themselves unwelcome by locals. Tensions are complicated by a mixed-race baby who lives with her English mother in a rooming house run by Foyle’s former driver, Sam (Honeysuckle Weeks), and her friend Adam (Max Brown). A brutal murder ensues, and Foyle must solve it.
May 16 Foyle’s War, Series VI: “The Hide”
Newly retired, Foyle is drawn to the case of a well-connected local man who is condemned to death for aiding the Nazis during the war. Foyle suspects the doomed man is concealing evidence that will exonerate him. Meanwhile, Sam (Honeysuckle Weeks) and Adam (Max Brown) fight for the survival of their rooming house — and discover they make a great team.
