Kate Gosselin's apparent crime was she had the nerve to grab some side work for much needed income, as she had been married then divorced to a man who squandered his family and opportunities to support their massive brood.
The braying for Kate Gosselin's blood has bordered on surreal. It wasn't Kate caught kissing boys in cars and hanging in bars, and she kept her mouth zipped during the worst of the tabloid coverage while her ex wore Ed Hardy shirts and had a different skank each week on his arm for his paparazzi moments.
So Kate's cardinal sin, it seems, was she was too greedy for opportunity? TLC believes in her and has given her a chance to secure a future for her children. But the choice to take "Dancing with the Stars" may have been too ambitious and too much saturation for a women with eight kids. One kid is exhausting, and being away from needy youngsters is mental torture; you worry for them 24/7.
Even today, the other multiple mama Octomom brought the crazy to Oprah, and watching and listening to her it was crystal clear that when you are saddled with such a large family all at once, and you are not a professional person or just plain rich, bad decisions are made for the almighty buck. A fact every mom and dad who work and support a family know all too well.
So tonight, the Kate haters, despite George Lopez's valiant cross-promotional dig to "Save Kate" with a website he erected, are happy and content. Their despised working mom is off the telly for now.
After five brutal weeks of dancing, commuting, worrying, trying to ignore hateful gossip, mom Kate Gosselin, 35, was sent home on ABC's Dancing With the Stars Tuesday.
Kate and pro partner Tony Dolovani had the lowest score, 15, on Monday's show, after dancing an enervated foxtrot to a Breakfast Club song. Kate and Pamela Anderson and her partner Damian Whitewood were the bottom two.
Gosselin's name called elicited shock and tears. "I need a minute," she said as she wiped tears from her eyes.
She thanked the show for the opportunity.
She added, "I cannot wait to watch the rest of these people perform Monday ... I've really grown to love everyone."
She finally thanked her fans for voting for her despite low scores from the judges.
"Thank you for believing in me probably more than I believed in myself."
So Kate haters and Kate fans, what say you all?
