FUSE and FOX go Green for Earth Day, programming for the 40th anniversary

Fuse is going Green Day all day in celebration of Earth Day on April 22nd with “Green Day Earth Day.” 

Tune in beginning at 11am ET for exclusive interviews, specials and videos including “Green Day’s 21st Century Breakdown,” a Fuse exclusive interview special and “The Green Day Chronicles,” a video retrospective. 

Fuse will also be raising awareness throughout the day by featuring information on how viewers can do their part to conserve the earth’s natural resources.

Green Day fans can go to fuse.tv/greendayearthday to check out photo galleries, videos and vote for the top Green Day videos, which will be featured on “No. 1 Countdown Special Edition: Green Day.” 

Fuse.tv will highlight earth friendly artists and the charities they support in a special Earth Day photo gallery as well as tips on how to be green.

The band Green Day has been at the forefront of the alternative rock scene. 2004’s American Idiot cemented their place as one of the biggest bands in rock while earning them a Grammy for Best Rock Album.  In May of 2009, they released their Grammy award-winning album, 21st Century Breakdown.

As part of FOX Broadcasting Company’s annual “Green It. Mean It.” campaign, an initiative designed to raise both viewer and employee awareness of environmental concerns, talent from FOX series will appear in network and affiliate on-air promos, as well as online at fox.com/earthday, to offer viewers “Green Tips” on how to help and get involved with environmental issues.

The tips will also be provided to more than 2,000 radio stations for their use during all day parts throughout April.

To raise awareness and engage employees even further, FOX will host its annual Earth Day Fair today, Friday, April 16, on the Fox Studios lot for News Corporation employees and guests. Approximately 50 vendors that provide environmentally friendly products and services will be on-site to share their goods and services with the employees. Last year, the event was a great success with more than 3,700 attendees. Additionally, as part of a eco-friendly partnership, FOX talent and employees will team up with the Los Angeles Unified School District and Castle Heights Elementary on Earth Day to refurbish, build and plant new gardens on campus.

This series was definitely a hit with celebs, featuring the voices of Whoopi Goldberg, Neil Patrick Harris, Sting, Fred Savage and many many more.

THE AGE OF STUPID (Planet Green, 10 - 11pm):

How hard should we work to stop climate change right now? In the U.S. premiere of this film, a man in the year 2055 looks back at footage from 2008 and wonders why people didn't stop global warming to prevent his devastated world.
