Spartacus' finale Kill Them All, fan comments for best characters of season one

Spartacus: Blood and Sand" ends a brilliant first season this Friday with the finale, "Kill Them All."

If you are a regular reader, together we have enjoyed one of the best period TV efforts in a very long time.

My own personal taste for Roman drama came from "I, Claudius," years ago with Francesca Annis and Derek Jacobi.  Later it was whetted by Bruce Heller's "Rome" for HBO.  Now Steven DeKnight and company have ramped up the action and the realism to bring a bloody feast of visuals and steamy sex to entertain the crowds.

The smallscreen audience for "Spartacus" mirrors the bawdy raucous ancients who sat in the coliseum screaming for more action, baring their breasts, drunk on wine demanding more story to unfold in the arena. 

For that unabashed pleasure we all have felt, Starz deserves the highest praise for creating a die-hard group of fans knitted into a community who love to get together an hash over all things Spartacus.
