Jon Heder and Will Ferrell's creative team at Gary Sanchez Productions have parted ways over "differences" for a new Comedy Central pilot.
EW reports that the "Napoleon Dynamite" star, an actor who said in a past interview at UGO.com that he had never read a self-help book "except for the Bible."
Heder added: "The Scriptures is maybe the closest thing, but I never owned a self-help book. I'm not that into reading. If I'm going to read, I'm going to read some cool sci-fi book or something, not some stupid self-help book. I did pick up 'The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People', I tried it because it was such a popular book. I read it for two seconds and I just didn't get into it. I was like, 'I'm highly effective.' "
Heder has pulled out of the Will Ferrell-produced sitcom he was set to star in for the network, according to EW.
Heder’s camp told EW.com exclusively: “Comedy Central, Gary Sanchez Productions and Jon Heder have mutually decided to part ways over creative differences with the character. Jon wishes the show nothing but success, and is very grateful for the opportunity.”
The series premise was described as a "failure to launch" take for Heder's character who moves back in with his parents. A search is on for Heder's replacement, according to EW.
