Actress Gabourey Sidibe is set to host "Saturday Night Live" April 24, People.com reports.
Sidibe will be joined by indie rockers MGMT as musical guests.
The actress has been under fire from shock jock Howard Stern and fitness guru Susan Powter for her large size.
Sidibe already was announced by Showtime as one of the cast members of Laura Linney's new series, "The Big C," as one of the students of a teacher (Linney) living with cancer.
The busy thespian is also cast in "Yelling to the Sky" alongside Zoe Kravitz.
Whoopi Goldberg expressed her desire to have Gabourey portray her in a biopic.
Sidibe had a whirlwind year after her performance in director Lee Daniels' "Precious - Based on the novel 'Push' by Sapphire" was recognized by the Golden Globes, SAG and even an Academy Award nomination for her role as an abused teen mother.
