This first season of "Spartacus: Blood and Sand" has had riveting performances by just about every actor in the principle cast.
This coming Friday, you will see John Hannah's acting chops on full display as the ludus honcho Batiatus, dismissed by patrician Rome, his ego battered by a Magistrate who used and abused his station in Batiatus' and Lucretia's home, cruelly using Varro's insignificant life as a 15 year old boy's coming of age trophy.
Hell hath no fury like a scorned Batiatus.
Spartacus was a pawn in Ilithyia's pay back game as she makes Numerius her willing puppy dog dupe; his first taste of female flesh that sets up the action for the next three episodes which are so brutal and profound, it will ruin you for average pedestrian smallscreen dramas. It already has for me.
Episode 111 is titled 'Old Wounds' – as patrician Solonius, forever the bane of Batiatus, warns Ashur the political player and schemer that the house of Batiatus will fall from hubris.
This Friday, April 2, at 10pm et/pt on Starz. Spartacus: Blood and Sand – watch Crixus make his return to the arena to face Pericles “The Titan of Pompeii” in the Primus.
