Every season on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" Monsters and Critics is invited to the coolest trailer parked on the CBS Television City lot: Melanie Mills' disco ball festooned makeup trailer, where genius women behind the scenes turn out miracles on a daily basis aided by some of the hottest product around.
You may think it is all about the dance, but “Dancing with the Stars” really is about hair, makeup and wardrobe. Engrave THAT on Len's Commandments next time!
These three crafts shine in a finely honed confluence of brilliance, like a perfectly turned out Tango. The Emmy award winning team behind the scene take your average comely celebrity and transform them into a golden Glamazon from another era in time.
ABC’s Dancing with the Stars: “Episode #503” took the 2008 Emmy for Outstanding Makeup for a Multi-camera Series or a Special (non-prosthetic) for good reason.

This coming Tuesday, Monsters and Critics will spend the day inside Melanie Mills’ custom makeup trailer getting the scoop on what goes down, and what is actually used that makes these stars look so great on camera.

When it comes to product, a huge variety of brands are used, and many are repeated season to season based on their dependable delivery of the wow factor.
But there are always new items introduced that help to make the unique look of a gleamy, glammy signature Mills' DWTS makeup.
St. Tropez body makeup is a staple, as well as Melanie Mills’ own signature body color called Gleam Body Radiance that makes the arms, legs, décolleté, and backs of the stars glow and look flawless, without any transfer to costuming.
Melanie recently shared what was used to take Pamela Anderson from Malibu mom to classic Marilyn Monroe this last week:
"For Pam's lips I used MAC lip pencil in Brick with MAC Jest lipstick on top mixed with a little MAC Culture Bloom. I layed down the eyebrow with MAC's Paint Pots in Groundwork, then on top used the light from Benefit Browzing, For Foundation... a bit of Armani mixed with Kevyn Aucoin's concealer and Amazing Concealer too."
Be sure to check back and find out all the good stuff used to make Niecy, Kate, Pam and everyone look so fabulous.
