On the April 2 episode, Jonathan welcomes the star of the new era of Doctor Who, Matt Smith who discusses becoming the Doctor, “My Doctor is clumsy, a little reckless, but becomes more assured as the series develops.” Matt reveals he had to keep the big news of landing the role a secret.

“I couldn’t tell anyone for three months,” and says, “To my mind it’s the best part in British TV history.” He also discusses the advice he took from David Tennant, “I spoke to David briefly, he said ‘enjoy the ride’.”

Matt also reveals exclusive details to Jonathan about the legendary TARDIS, “It’s bigger on the inside, has different levels, other rooms including a library and is a different shade of blue outside.” And when asked about his Doctor Who experience, Matt says he’s here to stay – “I hope to do at least another year, it’s a wonderful part and I want to keep it.” And there’s an exclusive sneak preview of the Doctor’s encounter with vampires.

Also joining Jonathan is award-winning actress Emma Thompson who recently starred in Oscar nominated film, An Education.

Emma shares with Jonathan that her husband British actor Greg Wise briefly dated Kate Winslet on the set of Sense & Sensibility, “He was told you’re going to meet your future partner...so he courted Kate for weeks, took her to Glastonbury [music festival]. She didn’t take to it because she’s a mod and he’s a hippy – it didn’t work out so it turned out to be me!”

And when asked if their daughter Gaia would follow in her famous parents footsteps – “She wants to be a waitress and an artist... acting as a job? [Gaia] is so unimpressed!”

And solar scientist Professor Brian Cox also joins Jonathan with music from British electronic pop duo Goldfrapp.
