Ex co host of The View and reality TV personality Star Jones is home recovering after a surgery, reports People.
Jones underwent cardiac surgery this past Wednesday that was directly related to a prior surgery she had three decades ago, after developing a thoracic tumor, according to the magazine.
A publicist for the television personality confirmed the procedure to the magazine. "On Wednesday, March 17th, a pre-planned cardiac surgery was performed on Star Jones," the statement read. "This recent surgery is a follow-up to the thoracic surgery she had 30 years ago. The procedure was successful and she is recovering well with her family. Star is grateful for everyone’s thoughts and prayers."
Jones was an outspoken member of Barbara Walters' The View program where she was criticized for her heavily sponsored wedding in 2004.
Jones married Wall Street banker Al Reynolds in an extravagant ceremony that was paid for and branded by various vendors.
Jones sported a wedding gown with a 27-foot veil topped with a crystal tiara, a 60-member Broadway choir, record number of attendants, and a custom made 7-carat princess cut diamond wedding ring, according to People magazine.
In 2007, Jones filed for divorce from husband of three-and-a-half years, Al Reynolds.
In a statement released to Entertainment Tonight, Jones said: "Several years ago I made an error in judgment by inviting the media into the most intimate area of my life. A month ago I filed for divorce. The dissolution of a marriage is a difficult time in anyone's life that requires privacy with one's thoughts. I have committed myself to handling this situation with dignity and grace and look forward to emerging from this period as a stronger and wiser woman."
Jones appears regularly on "The Insider" reality tabloid news show.
