The Rolling Stones songbook was brought to life on Tuesday, March 16 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed), as the new IDOL stage was revealed and America’s Top 12 – Didi Benami, Crystal Bowersox, Lacey Brown, Lee Dewyze, Andrew Garcia, Casey James, Aaron Kelly, Michael Lynche, Siobhan Magnus, Paige Miles, Katie Stevens and Tim Urban – sang songs from Mick and Keith's past.
Star performances included Siobhan Magnus who sang Paint It, Black a dramatic new look in a star-making performance that judge Kara DioGuardi compared to last season's Adam Lambert.
The laggards included Lacey Brown, whose rendition of Ruby Tuesday was a bit off.
The artists' Rolling Stones picks:
Michael Lynche, Miss You: Verdict: Awesome except for Simon and Ryan's little testosterone spat over the "desperate" comments Cowell laid on Lynche. Ryan is feeling his TV mogul oats, and Simon has had a cud full of him. Fisticuffs are coming.
Didi Benami: “Play With Fire” Verdict: Getting better
Casey James: “It’s All Over Now” Verdict: Staying the same, no breakout yet
Lacey Brown: “Ruby Tuesday” Verdict:: Not her best
Andrew Garcia: “Gimme Shelter” Verdict: I loved it but judges mixed, meted
Katie Stevens: “Wild Horses” Verdict: Getting better
Tim Urban: “Under My Thumb” Verdict: Not his best night
Siobhan Magnus: “Paint It Black” Verdict: Cape Cod homie, knocks it outta da pahk
Lee Dewyze: “Beast of Burden” Verdict: Just okay
Paige Miles: “Honky Tonk Women” Verdict: Good night for her
Aaron Kelly: “Angie” Verdict: Getting better
Crystal Bowersox: “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” Verdict: Not her best night but still strong.
Ke$ha, Orianthi and Season Seven winner David Cook will grace the Idol stage on St. Patty's day Idol's results show Wednesday, March 17 (9:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX.
Tune in to see Ke$ha sing her smash single “Blah Blah Blah,” Orianthi perform her hit “According to You” and find out who receives enough votes to stay in the competition and who is sent home.
