Fried up bull testicles, live squirming octopus tentacles to ginormous cheese covered burgers flambéed, former “The Next Food Network Star” contestant Adam Gertler is on a quest to tackle America’s most bizarre restaurant fares in “Freakiest Foods,” Fine Living Network’s newest one-hour special, premiering this Saturday, March 20 at 10 p.m. ET/11 p.m. PT.
Interesting that Adam discovers what we know about resourceful Cajuns, they can make a meal out of any pest. Enter the roasted rodents known as Nutria. Cajuns are like the Chinese and Sicilians; they have a recipe for everything, and every part of a critter.
See Rocky Mountain Oysters, Singapore scorpions on shrimp toast and people putting marshmallows on hamburgers. Then maybe try a 20 square foot pizza or the Nine Pound Skillet--made with nine pounds of sausage, bacon, potatoes, ham, onions, and over a dozen eggs topped with a mountain of cheese.
Tune in to encore presentations of FLN’s “Freakiest Foods” on Sunday, March 21 at 8 p.m. ET/9 p.m. PT and Sunday, March 28 at 5 p.m. ET and 8 p.m. ET/9 p.m. PT.
