Mariah Carey's big surprise involves home shopping channel, not pregnant

Looking well-fed and happy, actress and singer Mariah Carey had tongues wagging after she shared she had a big surprise to share with her fans.

The 39-year-old singer teased on the Oscars red carpet that she has "something special on the way." Everyone in the blogosphere assumed she was with child, which would have explained how she was looking as of late.

Marc Malkin of E! says no way, it's a TV project she was alluding to.

Nick Cannon told Malkin: "It's funny because the big surprise has to do with Home Shopping Network or something like that," Cannon revealed at the Stars & Strikes Fundraiser supporting APCH at PINZ in Studio City. "She has a new product coming out. It has nothing to do with kids."

Cannon said the two were still settling in to their married lives and speculated they would have a cute baby, if they had one.

"What people don't understand is Mariah has the funniest sense of humor ever," Cannon told E! "She's hilarious. We always have a good time."
