Everyone can pack it up, new father Michael Lynche closed the show and sewed it up for a sure fire spot in the top spot for the American Idol competition this season.
Like Crystal Bowersox, this man possesses real, raw, refined honest-to-goodness talent. Amazing heaping amounts. Kara blubbered like a baby all over Simon's sweater and even Cowell noted that was the performance of the series.
First up was Lee Dewyze:
Lee Dewyze sang "Fireflies" by Owl City
Mixed bag from the judges, it was a good performance but Simon was cool to him.
Alex Lambert sang "Trouble" by Ray LaMontagne
Smoky vocals for Alex Lambert but this song will forver now be the doggie and his banked bone song to me.
Tim Urban sang "Hallelujah" by Jeff Buckley
Hmmm Tim Urban. Ellen DeGeneres freaked him out a bit with her impromptu hug. Kara says, "you're kinda in it" and Simon took the credit for his performance
Andrew Garcia sang "Genie In A Bottle" by Christina Aguilera
Awful choice - he needs to find his groove again, as the judges clucked he cannot relive his breakout Paula Abdul cover performance, "a little bgit desperate" says Simon, "and going backwards."
Casey James sang "You'll Think of Me" by Keith Urban
Unfair criticism by the judges for a great performance .
Aaron Kelly sang "I'm Already There" by Lonestar
He sounded terrified but this guy is 16, keep that in mind. Great middle and end Simon called rubbish on Kara's ridiculous "third person you're too young" advice. "It's a nice song" said Cowell.
Todrick Hall sang "Somebody To Love" by Queen
Smart choice, Todrick Hall - "Todrick is back" says Randy.."Glee like" says Kara..."more Gospel" says Ellen, "you're a Broadway singer," says Simon
Michael Lynche nails it with "This Woman's Work" by Kate Bush
Michael Lynche was terrific. Kara DioGuardi cries, and a star is born. Crystal and Michael are the two fierce creatures of this show now. The ones to beat.
