Now, McGregor is talking about revving up for another round-the-world trip.
Recently at a press conference Ewan shared he may take his second big motorbike trip with man's best friend. McGregor said, "“I might go on my own. I got a dog, Sid. I’ve trained him to ride in my side car and I thought we could do a trip together,” McGregor told the U.K. Press Association. "I've done a lot of hard work recently and I admit that after a burst of intense creativity, I've got a bit of wanderlust. I've still got the bike and it's now got a sidecar on it, so I'll take my dog Sid along with me this time. I want to have our summer holidays as a family and then I'd like to get going. It would be a fantastic thing to do. It'll be good to get my leathers and my goggles on again"
McGregor first teamed up with Boorman for their TV series marathon motorcycle trip in 2004. The pair spent four months on the road travelling from London to New York and covered a distance of 22,345 miles, the series was called "Long Way Round" which also spawned a bestselling book of the same name. Then, the guys packed up and went North-South in "Long Way Down."
Afterward, Boorman had a cancer scare and had a testicle removed.
He shared this information with the audience at his Boorman Live Tour, and urged his fans to get themselves checked. Boorman also revealed that he is happy with the replacement testicle.
"The replacement is silicone and it's beautiful," he told the Daily Record. "But I do worry that I get buried and when someone digs me up in a hundred years they say, 'God, that's Charley Boorman and all that's left is his testicle - and it's not even real'."
