"The View" ladies entertained Meghan McCain, the daughter of former GOP presidential candidate Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., and discussed the Tea Party, Sarah Palin and Rahm Emanuel's "retard" comment.

McCain is self-described “progressive Republican,” who Twitters her love for "True Blood" and is a vocal proponent for gay marriage and other issues that are problematic for conservatives.

On February 8, McCain served as co-host on “The View” today, and told Whoopi, Sherri Barbara there were ideological differences with the movement, and the level of "racist" discourse the Tea Partiers were bringing to the table had to be ended.

McCain leveled her criticism at former Colorado congressman Tom Tancredo, who suggested that people who voted for President Obama could not pass a basic civics literacy test.

“People who would not even spell the word vote or say it in English put a committed socialist ideologue in the White House... named Barack Hussein Obama," Tancredo said last week as he kicked off the Tea Party convention in Nashville, Tenn.

Tancredo also criticized McCain's dad Sen. McCain for being a repeat of "Bush 1 and Bush 2."

“It’s innate racism, and I think it’s why young people are turned off by this movement,” McCain said.

However, McCain played coy over Whoopi's lead in about Sarah Palin, who took big swipes at President Obama at the Tea Party convention.  Whoopi noted the debate over the teleprompter vs the hand notes, and how Sarah Palin mocked Obama in her "Hopey Changey" remark.

“I got a book coming out in August and I’d be happy to come back and tell you everything in August,” McCain said, when pressed by Barbara Walters to comment.
