Score one for Joy Behar, whose interview with Mackenzie Phillips and Dr. Drew Pinsky is making some news today.
Phillips is post-editing her already published book "High on Arrival" and now says the meaning of consensual, well, means something entirely else.
For those of you out of the icky TMI loop, Phillips revealed a ten-year sexual relationship with her father, the Mamas & the Papas singer John Phillips back in September, 2009.
Now, from Behar's interview posted below, Phillips revealed, "First of all, I'd like to reframe my word 'consensual...As I was writing the book, I thought, This word, it kept sitting wrong with me, but I used it for lack of a better word...Since then, I've been schooled by incest survivors all across the world that there really is no such thing as consensual incest, due to the inherent power a parent has over a child. And so I wouldn't necessarily call it a consensual relationship at this time."
