Mass. Senator elect Scott Brown's 'Idol' music business connection
By April MacIntyre Jan 31, 2010, 19:13 GMT
There is a huge buzz growing on the Massachusetts' Senator-elect Scott Brown.
First, the handsome politician posed in Helen Gurley Brown's Cosmopolitan magazine naked to pay his law school bills many years ago.
Then, his attractive wife Gail, whom he has been married to for 23 years, was outed as the boat-bound babe starring in the old 80's Digney Fignus music video. She now serves as a news anchor in Boston, Mass.
It was also revealed that his attractive daughter Ayla was a Simon Cowell reject, yet despite this American Idol snub, Ayla has put out a decent pop song that shows the girl can sing.
Now Scott Brown is hoping maybe she can earn a "do over" with Cowell & Co.
In a televised interview ABC's This Week with Barbara Walters, Brown, who is more like the late Arizona senator Barry Goldwater than more conservative ex Gov. Mike Huckabee in GOP temperament, revealed a great amount about his personal life, and he says he supports the controversial Roe v. Wade decision and believes that states should decide the issue of gay marriage, not the federal government.
Brown said of the thorny issue of abortion: "... I feel this issue is best handled between a woman and her doctor and her family."
Despite his stance, the Massachusetts Right to Life endorsed Brown over Democrat Martha Coakley in the special election.
"We're behind him,'' John Rowe, chairman of the group's federal political action committee, told the Boston Globe during the campaign.
Brown's campaign provided the Boston Globe with this statement:
"While this decision should ultimately be made by the woman in consultation with her doctor, I believe we need to reduce the number of abortions in America. I believe government has the responsibility to regulate in this area and I support parental consent and notification requirements and I oppose partial-birth abortion. I also believe there are people of good will on both sides of the issue and we ought to work together to support and promote adoption as an alternative to abortion."
With regards to gay marriage, Brown invoked states' right in his interview with Walters.
He said, "I believe that states should have the ability to determine their own destiny and the government should not be interfering with individual states' rights on issues that they deal with on a daily basis."
Brown labels himself a "fiscal conservative" and a social moderate who knows the pain and stigma of depending "on welfare for a time" and what it was like "getting the blocks of cheese and worrying about how we're going to pay the bills."
Part two:
Now his daughter Ayla Brown's first video "Pick It Up" from her brand new album "Circles" is released, and available on iTunes and all digital stores.
The song was written by Ayla's good friend, label-mate and Idol Season five alum Will Makar and Australian pop-star Nathan Leigh Jones.
Brown's wife Gail was the eye candy in The Girl With the Curious Hand video by Digney Fignus.
Over 25 years ago, luck would have it that Gail was selected to play the sexy assassin mainly because she fit the red dress they had already chosen, according to Digney himself, revealed in an interview with the Daily Intel.
Website Daily Intel interviewed Fignus, who was genuinely surprised at the resurgence of the old video and song.
"What the hell does it have to do with Scott's, her husband’s, ability to govern?" Fignus told the Daily Intel.
