Joe Jonas, Neil Patrick Harris dazzle Dallas on 'American Idol'

Neil Patrick Harris made a great guest judge, as did Dallas native Joe Jonas when American Idol went to the Lone Star state in hopes of finding the new Kelly Clarkson.

Well, not the most exciting audition show, but there were plenty of sad back-stories and diseases conquered for the contestants to charm the producers with.

Wednesday night (January 27), CBS star Neil Patrick Harris and the Jonas Brothers' Joe Jonas sat betwixt Randy the dog and Kara the honey, as Simon chewed on his pen most of the night.

Notables:

Lloyd Thomas, 29, a dock worker and devoted dad of two girls, smiles for days with a big voice to go with his expansive girth and personality.

Quirky songstress Kimberly Carver, 26, who sang an original composition, all but Simon fell for her charmant ways

Erica Rhodes, a Barney alum and grad student decked in Dominatrix gear and a whip. Her old Barney "I Love You" song she sang showed off her voice better than the second song she did for the judges.

Tourette's afflicted Dave Pittman, 27, of Arkansas, just sang his heart out. His tourettes stops when he sings. Love this guy.

Todrick Hall, 24, a Fantasia back up singer also performed an original composition and he knocked it out of the park. Great energy.

Leukemia survivor Christian Spear, lovely chanteuse, sings Etta James' blues ballad "All I Can Do Is Cry" and charms them all.

The freak parade was minimal and quite cheerful, decked in Pink, fedoras and big bow ties. Polite crowd.

Tuesday's Idol lands in Denver, Colorado where Posh Spice is back for more "Si-mon" banter.
