Starz Party Down and Gravity set for premieres Friday, April 23

Megan Mullally - © Chris Hatcher / PR PhotosThe witty star milked that gaffe for the entire panel, along with the cast of one of the best TV comedies on the air.Starz today announced that "Party Down", which will see the awesome Jane Lynch (Constance) appear in the finale (she's getting married!) per the TCA scoop, along with the new dramatic comedy “Gravity” air on Fridays at 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. (et/pt), respectively, starting on Friday, April 23.Mullally, who shared at the TCA's that the scripts for "In The Motherhood were awful," and it was great to be on "Party Down" where "the scripts are really good," is cast as Lydia Dunfree, a middle-aged refugee from a lousy marriage who moves to Hollywood in hopes that her 13 year-old daughter will make it big. The whip-smart ensemble team for "Party Down" includes Adam Scott, Ken Marino, Lizzy Caplan, Martin Starr and Ryan Hansen.Rob Thomas along with John Enbom, Paul Rudd and Dan Etheridge are executive producers and Adam Scott is a producer on the show. Production bonus: Bryan Gordon and Fred Savage return as series directors and supervising producers. David Wain and Ken Marino directs the season finale, featuring the wedding of first season regular Jane Lynch. “Party Down” shares the 10 p.m. hour with “Gravity,” a noir comedy that takes the Mickey out of sad suicide tales. A group from an eccentric out-patient program of suicide survivors. Krysten Ritter stars as Lily Champagne, a twenty-something who just can’t connect to anyone until she actually dies. She stars with Ivan Sergei who plays Robert Collingsworth, who is despondent following the death of his wife, and who becomes an internet celebrity when his suicide attempt goes comically awry. You will also see Rachel Hunter in this series, cast as a super model now life coach Shawna who has hit the wall at forty. Ving Rhames is cast as Dogg McFee, the group’s leader and a former Major League Baseball player, now confined to a wheelchair. Robyn Cohen, James Martinez and Seth Numrich round out the main cast.
