'Dexter' slays the Best Male TV category at the Globes

Hall Fame Pictures, Inc - Santa Monica, CA, USA John Lithgow’s character Arthur, aka The Trinity Killer, was so evil, wrapped in the sheep’s clothing of doting family man, that his performance made the Showtime show “Dexter” rocket to the top this season. That performance netted Lithgow Best Supporting Actor in Series, Miniseries or Movie at the Golden Globes on January 17.

He gave Michael C. Hall a real actor’s toolbox workout as his Dexter tried to outsmart and maneuver the more experienced serial killer, played by Lithgow.Kudos also go to the writers of “Dexter” for giving Lithgow the great lines to reel off so eloquently in each frame."Dexter" star Michael C. Hall has been battling a form of cancer called Hodgkin's lymphoma and is reportedly in remission.Hall accepted the Golden Globes award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Drama.Despite his physical transformation from the chemotherapy he had been receiving, Hall was energetic and effusive. "It's really a hell of a thing to go to work at a place where everyone gives a damn," he said. "That's definitely the case with 'Dexter.' It's an amazing group...such an invigorated sense of collaborative energy all the time. It's a dream job, and I'm so grateful."Watching him from the audience was his wife and costar from "Dexter," Jennifer Carpenter, who plays Deb, Dexter's sister and fellow cop on the Miami-Dade homicide team.
