Showtime's star of "Dexter," actor Michael C. Hall revealed Wednesday he has been battling cancer, but there is very good news: He has released a statement that his treatment is nearly over and the disease is in remission.
Hall, 38, turned in one of the best season's ever of the excellent Showtime series "Dexter" and recently married his costar Jennifer Carpenter, who plays his sister Deb in the series.
Hall thanked his Los Angeles-area medical team for their skill in caring for him in his statement, issued by his publicist Craig Bankey.
People magazine reported that the Golden Globes (Sunday, Jan. 17) will see the couple in attendance together as Hall is nominated for best dramatic actor and "Dexter" as best drama. He also plans to attend the Screen Actors Guild Awards the following Saturday, where Hall and the cast are also nominated.
In season four, Hall was paired with guest star John Lithgow, also nominated for a Golden Globe award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role. Lithgow was cast as Arthur Mitchell, aka the Trinity Killer, who turned the tables on Dexter.
