Speculation over what plan of action CBS business affairs and network chiefs will take with the star of their big cash cow, "Two and A Half Men" is rampant in Hollywood.
Many entertainment insiders think Charlie Sheen's bosses are favoring a "watch and see" attitude as the personal and legal ramifications for the actor are updated almost hourly.
Brooke Mueller comes from money, her mother is Palm Beach socialite Moira Fiore, and her reaction to the assault from Sheen, born Carlos Irwin Estévez, is being scrutinized as "friends" speak to People magazine and say divorce is not out of the question.
Allegedly they care for each other despite their problems and the obvious separation, ‘but they are very different,’ the unnamed source tells People, saying the couple will give counseling a try.
But it is hard to bounce back from uttered epithets like ‘I’ll kill you,’ and "I don't care about your mother's money," which Sheen allegedly told his terrified wife.
Sheen has been accused of many bad things and sent off to rehab (twice) after near death experiences with drugs; maybe it is time for his family and his employer to let him face real consequences like any normal person would have to do in similar circumstances.
Parents of twin boys, Sheen, 44, and Mueller, 32, are reportedly spending some time apart after his Christmas Day arrest for second-degree assault, menacing and criminal mischief which landed him in jail in Aspen, Colorado.
According to a police report, Sheen himself told Aspen police officer Rick Magnuson that he and Mueller had been having marital problems recently and that their argument grew heated after she threatened him with divorce.
Allegations are that Sheen threatened Mueller with a knife, strangled and shoved her according to the police report.
Sheen also admitted to snapping two of Mueller's eyeglasses in front of her and told the officer that the two of them slapped each other's arms during the argument.
In a 911 call released by Aspen Police, Mueller told the dispatcher, "My husband had me with a knife. I was scared for my life and he threatened me."
