The 1980's era in film was dominated by director John Hughes, who had hit after hit with a key group of actors who became known as the "Brat Pack."

Hughes' work will be celebrated this coming Christmas, as Encore delivers a TiVo and DVR dream lineup of some of the best flicks from the decade.

Now you can relive the ‘80s Weekend” in December on Encore.  What a line up of great '80s films it is.

Included in this event is the World Television premiere of Don’t You Forget About Me, a poignant search for Director John Hughes, shot a year before his untimely death by a group of young filmmakers.

The documentary includes appearances by Kevin Smith, Ally Sheedy, Judd Nelson, Andrew McCarthy, Alan Ruck, Kelly LeBrock, Justin Henry, Roger Ebert, Jason Reitman, and Richard Roeper.

Don’t You Forget About Me premieres December 25 at 6:40 p.m. and repeats on December 26 at 3:00 p.m.

Cyndi Lauper will present all the awesome films from the ‘80s  including The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Weird Science, Weekend at Bernie’s, The Outsiders and one we think is Ms. Lauper’s favorite – Girls Just Want to Have Fun.
