Scottish actor and teetotaler Gerard Butler is set to host Saturday Night Live.

Gerard will serve as host this weekend, October 17, with musical guest Shakira, and NBC fired over the first promo of his appearance.

Butler almost became a lawyer in Scotland, but was fired from his first job as a trainee.  He eventually found his way to the US, living for a while in Venice, California, and traveling all across the country while building his acting career.
