You may have seen this clip in theaters, but today NBC has fired over the high-res, extended version of Jay Leno’s mini-movie, titled “The Road Trip.”
This web exclusive on NBC.com features Jay and Fred Armisen taking a Tommy Boy-esque road trip in one of Jay’s vintage cars with terrible (and, of course, hilarious) consequences.
Jay was on a conference call recently where he shared how the new gig would play out: "We're going to save some of the traditional stuff, Jaywalking and headlines and we'll do those as our lead-in to the 11 o'clock news. So we are going to have some stronger comedy pieces. Music will probably come somewhere in the middle and then we'll save the comedy pieces for right before the local news... We want to have comedy going into the 11 o'clock news, that's kind of important."
When asked if he would use a similar seating set up as The Tonight Show, Leno explained, "We have two chairs, it'll just be a conversation area without a desk. I'm kind of glad the desk is gone actually. You know, when you take over the Tonight Show - even though you make it your own there's still certain conventions that you have to conform to so it's fun being able to change that up a little bit."
