FOX takes 'Dance' and 'Glee' over Obama speech

Barack Obama -President Barack Obama's address scheduled for 5 p.m. Pacific Time on Wednesday, a speech that will make or break the President's chances for convincing doubters to trust in his vision of health care. © Insidefoto / PR PhotosThe network is foregoing a broadcast the President of the United States giving an address to a joint session of Congress to talk about the currently contentious issue of health care.Fox made the announcement on Friday.President Barack Obama's address scheduled for 5 p.m. Pacific Time on Wednesday, a speech that will make or break the President's chances for convincing doubters to trust in his vision of health care.This is not the first time FOX has preempted Obama.The Los Angeles Times reported that in July, the network went with an episode of "So You Think You Can Dance" instead of a news conference Obama held on health care reform. Apparently good strategy, as they won the ratings majority for that evening. FOX also dumped Obama's news conference marking his 100th day in office in order to show a results episode of "American Idol" back in April.
