Jon Gosselin superstar? American TV goes to the dogs

Honestly, if you hang on the doings of Kate and Jon Gosselin of the TLC faux happy family franchise, "Jon &  Kate Plus Eight," you need a reboot.

The poster boy for alleged derelict dads who took up with rebel without a cause Hailey Glassman, 22, his gal with the arrest record from college in 2005 when she was "charged with possession of marijuana, hashish and hashish oil" is pushing hard with his publicist to remain in the news.

Hailey's case ended up being settled out of court, but she "paid fines and court costs, and was placed on probation." The daughter of a plastic surgeon who worked on Kate saw trouble one more time in 2007, when she was "back in court" for "illegal consumption of alcohol."

But if you ask Jon, he's in love with the girl, and he knew his marriage to Kate was over in October 2008, according to People.

The father of eight says he tried marriage counseling, but said at one point he gave up and started "talking" to Hailey Glassman, 22, in May, 2009.  He and Hailey are now "boyfriend and girlfriend," he tells People.

Jon has chucked a ten-year marriage to bask in the glory of being an unfettered single dad, and Christian Audigier husky-sized model/muse for a range of allegedly gaudy schmattes.  Jon is making personal appearances thanks to corporate sponsors who will not be named here, in Las Vegas to promote...Jon.

"I worked on my marriage," Jon crowed to People outside his Pennsylvania home on Wednesday.

"I went to therapy. I have huge bills so [detractors] can't denounce that ... For [Kate] to say she'd been working on it -- well, I'd been working on it too, and at one point in time I just gave up," Jon said. "There's a point in time where you just say, 'This is not going to work.' So I just moved on."

Jon claims he and Hailey start dating AFTER Kate, 34, filed for divorce on June 22, because it "wasn't appropriate."

"I love Hailey," he said. "I'll always love Kate. I went through a whole bunch of pictures today, and it's sad to see something that was good turn bad but we moved in two different directions. We know that...We move further and further apart because we're so frustrated," he says. "But you have to understand reality TV. We can get in a fight today and have to do an interview tonight."

Gosselin made a spectacle of himself in Las Vegas.

Armed with his Mommy, Jon hosted a Vegas pool party Saturday when reports claim "he was surrounded by women."

People reports that Jon was ordering trays of food and champagne and schmoozing it up with the "women" who flocked to his side, when a few irate Team Kate supporters showed up to rain on his Ed Hardy's.

Lucky female fans besotted with the portly papa can look forward to a whole line of Gosselin inspired clothing pumped out by the House of Hardy at their local Wal Mart in the near future.
