"Harold and Kumar" star Neil Patrick Harris was in Dallas for the "American Idol "tryouts.

Since the departure of Paula Abdul, it's been a who's who of celebrities jockeying for the chair left by the petite choreographer/singer who bombed out in salary negotiations with AI producers.

Harris joins guest judges Victoria Beckham, Mary J. Blige, Shania Twain, Katy Perry and Joe Jonas.

"Access Hollywood" broke the news that Harris sat with Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi on day two of the auditions in Dallas on Tuesday.

It was Joss Whedon's "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog,"that showed off Harris' impressive vocal talents.

Producers have not made any announcements regarding the vacant judge seat, or a permanent replacement for the upcoming season.

Newlywed songwriter/singer Kara DioGuardi joined the cast last season.

Abdul announced she will host next month's "VH1 Divas" concert via her Twitter blog.
