She may be down, but never out. Paula Abdul, who was brushed out of the "Idol" fold in a messy public split, has landed like a cat on VH1, a network trying desperately to get past the recent murder-suicide dominating the news that involved the network.
After her possible stints on the ABC dancing competition, "Dancing With the Stars" and the scripted comedy, "Ugly Betty" went nowhere, Abdul has announced she will host the September 17 "VH1 Divas" show, which will feature performances by Kelly Clarkson, Miley Cyrus, Leona Lewis and Jordin Sparks.
Abdul used Twitter to make her announcements:
"Hi guys! im really excited 2 announce ill b hosting this year's "VH1 Divas"! The show will be live on Sept 17th @ 9 pm EST."
Additional performers and presenters will be announced in the upcoming weeks.
Abdul used Twitter to relay her Idol departure to her fans on August 4.
Idol and FOX producers have filled her judge slot with rotating guest judges, including announced stars Katy Perry, Mary J. Blige, Joe Jonas and Victoria Beckham.
