Tattoo lovers and those interested in anthropology have a new documentary series to enjoy on History Channel.
This is a six-episode series, where the world of tattoos belonging to the fringe modern day tribes, including 1% motorcycle clubs, hardcore prisons (think Eastern Promises), urban gangs and street culture are highlighted.
Tattoo mogul/film maker Mario Barth and producer/director Billy Burke have created and executive produced a new series for the History Channel, “Marked," premiering Thursday, August 27th at 9:00 p.m. EST.
According to Tattooblog.com, "the crew from Low Rider Tattoos" will allegedly be featured from a leaked mention on their blog: “Lowridertattoostudios.com is proud to announce the upcoming feature on the History channel featuring some of the best chicano tattoo artist in the world. Artists like Mark Mahoney, Jack Rudy, Freddy Negrete and Jose Lopez will be featured in the show, so stay tunned for more details on this historic event.”

Barth and Burke will go inside the minds of members as they explain what the symbols decorating their bodies mean in their world and to them personally.
According to History, "initiation rites and the fierce pride of belonging to an outlaw family are all part of the territory. Tattoo artist, members and cultural experts will explain the technique and history behind the ink and the group it adorns, putting the personal experiences of the show’s main characters into perspective."
Mario Barth and Billy Burke's film collaboration, “Under the Skin” won numerous awards including Best Documentary Director from the Los Angeles Film Festival, Best Documentary from the New York Independent Film Festival.
With many projects in the works, Barth & Burke set out to provide the appropriate medium for cultural expression where large audiences can learn and ultimately appreciate while being entertained.
