Former American Idol contestants, Constantine Maroulis and Michael Johns, told Extra their thoughts on the departure of Paula Abdul and the impact that she had on the show.
“Extra” spoke with Broadway star Constantine Maroulis, who made news earlier this week for getting into a ‘bar fight’ with a fan over the news about Paula Abdul. He talks about this for the first time about what really happened .
“It was just a drunk dude at a concert just like jumped on my back.”
Although, this story was blown out of proportion it does not negate the fact that Maroulis holds a great deal of respect for Paula and would defend her if necessary.
“Not that I wouldn't, cause I love Paula. I would hit the streets for her but that’s not what happened.”
Season seven’s Michael Johns, who currently lives in Los Angeles, stopped by ‘Extra’ to share his thoughts on the shocking news that Paula was leaving the show.
“What can I tell you, I was a bit flabbergasted.”
The impact that Paula had on the show and the contestants is definitely felt and Michael Johns shares his thoughts.
“Definitely she's the reason people tune in whether you love her or whether you just want to see if she's going to be a train wreck, you know.”
“I think something special from the show will be missing.”
“Extra’s” interviews with the Constantine Maroulis and Michael Johns airs tonight.
