Encore celebrates the work of the late John Hughes, director of generation-defining teen comedies. He wrote, directed, or produced some of the most beloved and influential films of the ‘80s from "Home Alone" to "Pretty in Pink," "Ferris Bueller’s Day Off," "The Breakfast Club" to my personal favorite, "Planes, Trains and Automobiles."

The sudden death of John Hughes has left so many people in shock.  His films spoke to teenagers and were sentimental, hilarious and slyly subversive.  He worked with great actors: John Cusack, John Candy, Steve Martin, Molly Ringwald and Matthew Broderick to name a few.

There is a touching remembrance of John Hughes from a fan who persisted in penning the director her thoughts, and her efforts panned out big time.

Please read Alison Byrne Fields' touching account of how an unlikely friendship developed and lasted in Hollywood: Sincerely,John+Hughes
