At the ongoing TCA's from Pasadena today, FOX has announced that chef Gordon Ramsay is bringing his culinary expertise to homes across the U.S.
Ramsay invites viewers to cookalong with him from the comfort of their own kitchens during the new show, "Gordon Ramsay: Cookalong Live."
The show is based on the established UK hit series, as Ramsay hosts the live one-hour special, scheduled to air Tuesday, Dec. 15 (9:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed).
The show will see the loquacious chef offer America a one-on-one cooking lesson, providing viewers with a real-time demonstration and step-by-step instructions on how to cook a delicious three-course meal in just 60 minutes – all live.
The network also announced they have picked up an eighth installment of "Hell's Kitchen," the long running cooking competition that pits aspiring chefs against each other in a bid to win a lucrative head chef position in a luxury property.
“Gordon Ramsay is one of the most sought-after culinary experts in the world and one of the most compelling personalities on television,” said Mike Darnell, President of Alternative Entertainment for Fox Broadcasting Company at the TCA's. “We’re really excited not only to welcome Gordon back for another season of 'Hell's Kitchen', but also to give everyone in America the opportunity to experience Gordon firsthand and live with 'Cookalong Live'.”
The network revealed the premise of the new show, where viewers will be given a check list in advance with the list of ingredients, utensils and cookware they will need to ensure they can keep up with the chef and not get thrown out of the kitchen. When the live hour is over, viewers will have prepared a delicious three-course meal to share with their families.
The sixth season of "Hell's Kitchen" currently airs Tuesdays (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX, and will cumulate in a two-hour season finale Tuesday, Oct. 13 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT).
The winner of this season six will receive a Head Chef position at Araxi Restaurant in Vancouver, Canada.
