Joe Jackson. It had to be the strangest interview Larry King ever conducted. It had to be the strangest interview Larry King ever conducted.
The father of the late pop star Michael Jackson appeared on the CNN show, with a hat that covered his eyes for most of the exchange and a cellphone that went off which had Jackson fumbling in his pockets, then reading the text message, oblivious he was live on the air.
Joe Jackson spent the majority of the interview denying charges of abusing Michael as a child, denying he was separated from mother Katherine Jackson, denying he was manipulating the children of Michael Jackson as future Jackson earners, and supporting promoter Leonard Rowe's (also on Larry King) claims that AEG was complicit in the manipulation and ultimately the death of his son Michael.
Jackson told King he took Michael's death "very hard" and believes the doctor who took care of him was somehow responsible for the singer's demise.
Dr. Conrad Murray is also blamed by Tito Jackson as "panicking" and being negligent in handling the medical emergency that arose when Michael became unconcious.
"The doctor gave him something to make him rest, and then he don't wake up no more. Something is wrong there," Jackson said.
"This doctor, he ran away. They had to look for him three days to find him. To me that is foul play," Jackson said.
Jackson sported a large Africa medallion and kept his hat on the whole interview. He also added he didn't know where his son's body is being kept and hasn't seen the results from a second autopsy performed on Michael Jackson at the family's request.

I feel heartbroken over the loss of MJ. I just wish he knew how many people really loved and appreciated him and his music. After tonight's inteview I felt sick to my stomach. Michael's world was a circus act with a bunch of monkeys on his back, with hands shoved in his pockets. I was embarrased for the Jackson Family and wondering how in the world did Michael come from that? Was there anyone in this world who really loved and protected the man with the greatest gift?
What the heck!? My god, the man has no feelings! He didn't even seem to care at all that his SON was DEAD!! He seemed more interested in who he could blame for it. That's not right. And who texts on national tv like that? Ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous... X(
And no, Pert, I wouldn't call that much of a father, though if it's the best he can do I guess it's the best he can do.
Joe Jackson Has cryed for his son. now he is admitting that there was alot of discorse in his family. Not all familys get along famously. what I do know is that Michael Jackson was murdered by the people who were controlling him. My neighbor told me that David Caradine was hanging in the closet. He was. Michael Jackson would be next. i was going to have to deal with his death. I told Law Enforcement here. Since I have known the Jacksons since i was in 10th grade, it concerned them. Cops here have had to escort Michael when ever he came here to visit. they knew him. They asked If I thought she was serious. Yes I did. HE is Dead.
when she told me about david caradine, no one knew he was dead. it was law enforcement that did a search for his wearabouts, asking the Maid to check.
Michael Jackson was murdered, he did not od on his own.
I met Micheal and his whole family 40 years ago in Phoenix,Az while visiting their relatives and grandparents. To the Hawkins and Jackson family, my prayers will always be with you, he is good now, in no pain and no suffering a time we will welcome to live forever with our Lord Jesus Christ.. In Jesus Name!!
Michael, you will truly be missed by us ALL, you were such a great entertainer and humanitarian!! God Bless you, you have earned your wings, Job well done, Now RIP!!
In Christ,
That is what they meant by foul play. I think actually, Joe put it into a good example. Michael has a problem with drugs, and a drug seller is living in his house. Is this doctor going to say that Michael made him inject these drugs into his system? That doctor, and I suspect other's are a disgrace to the profession. Dr.Deepak Chopra has already spoken his mind about this. I completley understand (to a small extent), the inability to shut off a creative mind. Couple that with a perfectionistic personality. Why were all these doctors so quick to help this through using dangerous medical drugs. If any one person knew, that Michael was solving this concert difficulty by taking these drugs, it should have been dealt with swiftly. It was apparently known that he managed through the 'history' tour the same way. For heavens sake, having oxygen tanks, but no heart devices to monitor this medicine at his house? Is this not also malpractice? A responsible doctor would see his marks on his body and raise flags, let alone be the doctor placing them there. Passing a medical? That is suspicous. Did he not look on the anorexic side? Would the track marks not be seen in physical? I can even minimize this...only the diprivan bc of concert pressure, let's say. Bad enough. It was reported other drugs as well though, on top of diprivan. AEG has admitted they worried about his loosing weight rapidly, and worried about him eating, among other reports in the media which were then quickly covered up. It looks suspiciouly like they were just trying to make money and pray he makes it through the tour successfully. I am sure that is also what Michael wanted too of course, to accomplish much, at one time, always producing. Signs of creativeness, and perfectionist. After concerts on to something else. As long as he could produce, noone really worried. Come on, let's pay attention to people, let's care a little more, someone struggling, obviously in need of intervention for eating, drugs, sleeping, stress. Michael may have requested his family be turned away at that time, because the enablers were enabling him, and controlling him to make it through his committements which were worth millions of dollars. As a fan, if I had a ticket to his show and had found out he was in need of help, I would have delt with it. No way would I wish his health to be at risk...especially Michael. An addict, with that combination of personality, with enablers to enable my ill attempts to solve my immediate problems so I could continue full speed ahead to uphold a committment worth millions...and maybe my personal financial situation to manipulate me (especially if I can no longer make decisions well). Gee, who was in control? Sounds like a combination of blackmail and advantage taking to me. Personally, I was worried when I heard the song entitled 'morphine'. Always thought 'his people' would never let anything happen to him, surly. Addictions are a hard one without help in numbers. I find it hard to believe that body guards and certain others would not have listened to the family and their concerns, I am sure they saw some truth in the families concerns. If the family is to go through to investigate this, it has to be made clearer than it was spoken in this interview...sorry Joe and Leonard, I know what you were trying to say.
Yes it was a bizarre interview, but I have come to expect that from Joe Jackson. I can't imagine how Michael came from this man and the only thing I can think is that he gets all his sensitivity from his mother. Michael has said he wished he could understand his father. Right now he just looks like a stupid old man and pretty harmless at this point but I think he was a horrible influence on those kids and I commend them for raising above it. Also what is this deal with Leonard Rowe? Is he on the level? He also seemed like a questionable character dressed up in a fancy suit.
This man was very obviously a bad father who did not care for his children, but about their fame and $. There are *numerous* interviews here MJ says his father beat him with a belt. Perhaps Joe calls this a 'spanking' as he implied on the King show. Why would he mention that it was slaves who were beaten ? Must everything be turned into a race issue ?
Based on the MJ interviews, straight from the horses mouth, this man messed MJ up very bad emotionally...I would guess the emotional troubles and pain that led to such drug abuse had more to do with Joe than any other transient painful event in his life.
To Joe's defense, I don't think anyone has the right to say or dictate how someone grieves. I am sure Joe loved his son and a grieving family looking for answers is all is going on; since no one has any answers I agree it appears suspious. I think Michael and his dad had some issues but what family doesn't. I have issues with my dad, but I still love him. I know Michael loved his father. I believe Michael may have resented some things and I do believe Joe spanked or whipped Michael for whatever reason, but Michael knew that his dad loved him. Joe is old school, and I don't know the details, but my parents believed in spankings and I swear by it. We confuse spankings with abuse and they are different. Anyone who has children understands that is correction and when it is necessary. The media is making Joe into something I don't think he is, because he doesn't break down and fall to pieces in front of the camera doesn't mean that Joe didn't love Michael and to say that is not fair. I think Joe did what he thought at the time was necessary to become great and successful in the music business, right or wrong he birth a family of great talent, Michael himself called him a genius. So cut the man some slack. He is older and maybe not as eloquent as we would like in his expression, but don't assume he didn't love Michael because I know he loves his son. I think we shouldn't make judgement about their family, check your own family and see how perfect your relationship is with your children and share it.
I think that the Jackson family has had issues like every other family in the world. We all have skeletons in our closet. Every family has an acholic, a crackhead, a gay uncle or aunt. We all have people that we try to leave out of lives, but the truth is we are all still family. I am pretty sure that Joe Jackson has grieved over his son's death, and we can't judge the way we think he should feel. Only God knows what is in his heart. And if he is not right, then he will be dealt with by the wrath of God.
I don't know if being spanked with a belt, makes him a an abuser, because I have been given a whipping with a belt and a switch. And it didn't mean my mother abused me. It taught me not to do the same thing again. My mother was a strong person who believed in discipline, and I thank her for that. Now I don't know what Joe's beliefs are and if he just beat Michael for any little thing or not, but he seems a little strange. But I am sure that he was the same way when Katherine married him. And if he was why would she stay and have so many children with him?
I know that they all enjoyed the fruits of the labor that the family made, so was it worth staying in that situation.
I think that Joe Jackson was a mean demanding dad...but so what? My dad was so mean that I was scared to death of him but I don't think it is right for the whole world to take jabs at him because he was mean or because he beat his children. I never beat my children but I do know that people who do beat their children are not uncaring monsters because they do. Joe Jackson should get some credit because of raising this talented group of kids. He must have been doing something right. People just bash this guy as if he is a cold blooded murderer. Murderers and rapist dont even get trashed as much as he does. If he is as bad as people say he is, we don't have to worry, he has to answer to his own karma. Its not up to us to just continue to hate this guy and critize him and judge whether or not he cares if Michael is dead. I love Michael Jackson with all my heart, but if he got beatings, I don't feel that sorry for him because millions of people got beatings, its not that weird to have gotten beatings. I'm not condoning being mean to children but this is getting kind of ridiculous the way people are blaming Joe Jackson for everything Michael has done wrong. How about the things Michael has done right?
Yes I agree with partly comment about Joe Jackson, everybody have a bitter and sour childhood, but again because of the decipline given by our parents it's teach us a good lessons to become success. I don't think Joe only think about Michael financial fortune, throughout the interview he sound so sad and there is a time he was cried, until it's difficult for him to accept Michael is no longger in this world, and that is the reason he do not want to know where is Michael body have gone to. And I deeply understand how hard it was for the Jackson family to handle this.
But we could not blame Joe Jackson or the entire Jackson family if they have no idea what's going on with Michael, as Joe explaint detail about how much AEG are trying to cut them of from contact or comunicate with Michael. So once they know Michael was death this is devastated and defanately they will think something goes wrong and AEG need to answer all this questions as at this current condition they will put on blame by so many people in the entire world. I just hope justice will prevail and Michael rest in peacefully as no one could ever hurt him over and over again
Everyone deals with things differently. If he was as bad as the media is saying I don't think the family would even let him near them. The media is setting him up for ratings and everyone is buying into. These were the same people who attacked Michael Jackson so horribly and now it seems the media has compassion for Michael now. Don't buy into it! When the finish with Joe they will go after Michael again.
The media is the one who is making money of the Jackson's. The most money of all! The father is 81 years old and people are so cruel. Give the family some credit. If he was that bad he wouldn't even be in their lives at all.

It saddens me to see a man who does not show any compassion over the loss of his son. Is that what you call a father?
