NBC announced today that the anticipated new series, "Parenthood," starring Peter Krause and Maura Tierney, was pushed to mid-season.
Now, Maura Tierney, 44, is on a personal medical leave according to a statement NBC released July 10.
The show, based on the 1989 movie starring Steve Martin, was scheduled to begin production on July 27, but its start date has been pushed back eight weeks due to a "medical evaluation that Tierney is undergoing." No further information was divulged on Tierney's condition.
"Parenthood" initially was to air on September 23, but now is slated to bow midseason (November to February).
This marks the second time “Parenthood” has had production delays. Pilot production was shut down for two days after the unexpected death of NBC vice president of drama Nora O’Brien.
The Premise:
Parenthood focuses on the complex relationships between four siblings (Tierney, Peter Krause, Erika Christensen, and Dax Shepard) and their parents (Craig T. Nelson and Bonnie Bedelia).
