The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that Heigl's option on the hit medical drama was picked up, so that she will be needed back this fall.
No one from the ABC series has made released an official statement.
Heigl recently wrapped "Grey's Anatomy," but the New York Post's PageSix is reporting that she was dumped from a high-profile romantic comedy "Valentine's Day" because she demanded too much money.
The film is directed by Garry Marshall and has inked Julia Roberts, Jennifer Garner, Anne Hathaway, Ashton Kutcher, Shirley MacLaine and Bradley Cooper as leads.
Allegedly Heigl asked for $3 million, and a source told PageSix that "no other actors asked for nearly that amount."
However, Heigl's publicist blasted back, insisting it was the actress who walked.
The rep tells PageSix, "The story is ludicrous. Early negotiations are a daily occurrence in this business, and just for clarification, Katherine walked away from this project for multiple reasons."
