I don't think he needs to apologize anymore than he has. She went on to say in an interview with Matt Lauer that she would be afraid to have her daughter (Willow tree) near Letterman, and Matt asked her if she wasn't being just as bad in that statement. Of course, she said 'no'. Wasn't she the same kook that kept spouting out that Obama ran with terrorists??
Letterman's jokes were probably in poor taste, but he's a comedian, and that isn't the first joke done in poor taste by any comedian.
For someone who is continually trying to 'protect' her children, Sarah Palin is constantly making them (and then herself) the center of the media attention. Really Sarah? You're really protecting them? If so, shut up and stop constantly dragging a poor comedic joke into the media spot light. That will do wonders for your daughter and your family.
there are plenty of other things to make jokes about. young women should
be off limits.
That's true, but every comedian jokes about anyone and anything now - nothing is off limits. Some people don't like the jokes about girls, then some won't like jokes about gays, and fat people, etc., and the list goes on and on. I guess it's called 'free speech' like it or not. Palin isn't a comedian - or at least intentionally, but she has made her share of distasteful comments. Dave admitted what he said was probably in poor taste and that he wouldn't have made the remarks about the younger girl.
free speech has consequences. Dave and his writers were definitely out of line.
Jayne, at least we can agree that jokes about young fat gay girls are inappropriate.
I think comedy can go only so far, Letterman can be an idiot sometimes, I have listened to and watched Sarah Palin many times and I find her to be a very intelligent person who makes good old common sense and an excellent Governor, I only wish she was the Governor of my state of Nevada.
Nobodys perfect, even Letterman should know that, he lays low, but! he knows the things he has done in his lifetime, he speaks with a forked tongue and can be very cruel in his wording and the things he says (Jerk!)
He's filthy rich and thats okay but for Gods sake! his mouth can be such a cruel depiction that sometimes hurts those that don't deserve it, an apology is in order. Do it letterman, apologize in front of the whole world if you have the guts!!!!
Dave stated that what he said was probably out of line - so let it go. He invited the Palins to come on his show, they refused. We can all agree that it was inappropriate, but Palin doesn't need to milk it for all the publicity she can get. The point of inappropriateness has been clearly made, agreed by Dave, time to move on! I've heard comedians say much worse with a lot of smut attached.
I am sick and tired of being sick and tired of Sarah Palin and her family.
She was so excited by this whole mess that her eyes were dancing and she
could not stop smiling. From day one (Aug.29,2008), I have felt that she
is a self-serving narcissistic opportunist. Shame on John McCain for
unleashing her on the lower 48. I have heard that he is really sorry, too,
now. She carried her little baby around like a sack of potatoes at the
convention and kept him up until after Midnight every night. That said, all children should be left alone, but when you insert your children and their
problems and do not care if it is negative or positive--and that is Sarah Palin in a NUTshell!!!
to that!
The 'joke' didn't even make sense! As far as I know Rodrigues never knocked anyone up, and Bristol was not at the game Willow was. However David did knock someone up, so I guess where ever the mother of his son goes comedians should joke that she must be getting knocked up while she is there. If a woman dares to have a baby while unmarried, she must be having sex with everyone everywhere she goes. Is that the funny part of that 'joke'? David is a hypogritical pig. He does owe everyone an apology who was offended by his stupidity, including the then unmarried mother of his son.
Alaska's Rat island is finally Palin-free! More news at eleven.
In the meantime, she's gearing up to feature in the 2012 political extravaganza : 'Palinator II : Rise of the Morons'
Spitfire
Answer to 'Pat':
How is Letterman hypocritical? How can you say that? Letterman just fools around with people's shortcomings. Yours, mine, even his own. He makes jokes out of people's foibles, and if you don't find the jokes funny, don't watch his show. He gets flak because he made a few jokes about Palin in the last six months, but Limbaugh can spend hours in violent stream-of-consciousness, rabid rants about liberals and nobody challenges him and his crap. Palin, weeks on end during the campaign, accused Obama of being a terrorist. Where is her credibility after all that now that he's president, I ask thee?
Well, her credibility is intact because only idiots will listen to her, and idiots abound. They're much more numerous than intelligent people.
Palin is the one who claims the high moral ground while all immoral hell is exploding to shit around her, making all her positions crumble.
Palin is the one who should limit her losses and just shut the frig up before she demeans herself any further.
No! Wait!
I'm getting a vision here! Palin for President and Fatass Limbaugh for VP in 2012!
Coming in 2012 : Palinator II : Rise of the morons
with Spitfire, and you're right on about 'Lumpbaugh'. His rants are disgustingly incredible, and it's amazing that anyone would ever buy into his crap. Palin has a lot on her plate. She's had her 5 minutes in the media proclaiming her displeasure with Letterman, now needs to get on with her life and not draw this out forever. Her remarks about Obama being a terrorist maybe came back to bite.
Ok, Letterman has now apologized to the Palin girls, so let's see if Palin can let all the hype die a natural death or will she milk it for the next few months.
